Meet Indiana

When I talk about supporting Small farms and Australian yarn suppliers - I mean this small. Down to the individual animal small.

Meet Indiana, raised on an Alpaca Farm near Canberra, she provides the incredibly soft alpaca yarn I have included in my Single Rib Beanie kit.

Is’’t she lovely - look at the beautiful rich black colour.

My Aussie Yarn kit range was created to support these small suppliers who care and nurture their beautiful animals.

You can knit a gorgeous soft alpaca beanie using the fleece from this lovely girl, with everything you need in my beginner knitting kit. The kit contains this lovely un-dyed, natural black alpaca yarn, knitting pattern, knitting needles, sewing needle and compostable project bag.

Other kits supporting Aussie farmers are also available in my new range. Click here to view

create mindfully

Knitting has often been connected to the process of Mindfulness.

The process of knitting as meditation. Doing something deliberately, slowly, with purpose makes a lovely change to staring at a screen and scrolling!

The new Aussie Yarn knit kits projects continue with the mindfulness concept. However, it now extends to the yarns and even the packaging.

The yarns are sourced from small Australian farms who care for their animals and operate in a sustainable manner. The yarns are processed as carefully and organically as possible. (Yarn from Tarndie - see video above, is used in one of my Aussie Knit kits)

The project bag, which is part of the kit, as well as the packaging material are from a company called Better Packaging.

Project Bags - keep your knitting kit safe and secure in this resealable project bag. Made from Corn Starch and compostable.

The project bags we are using for your kits are also compostable – Primarily made from Corn starch and once you’ve used the bag, they can be added to your worm farm or compost and returned to the earth.
